I hope to visit at least one of these sites during my lifetime. I believe that going on pilgrimage to such sacred sites builds up positive karma. This will help me to have a better life in my next reincarnation.

A relic can be either the surviving physical remains of a deceased holy person, such a fragment of bone, or a personal effect such as a bell, book or piece of clothing.
The most famous stupa is the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This is said to hold a tooth belonging to the Buddha. Every August there is a special ceremonial parade of elephants held at this shrine. The largest elephant carries a golden casket containing the Buddha’s tooth.
