Clearly cooperation is essential if an important event is to be a success. This does not only apply to a great international occasion such as the staging of the Olympic Games. It also applies to a very personal event, such as where a medical team is trying to save your life following a traffic accident. The paramedics, anaesthetists, surgeons and nurses who treat you must pool their experience and skills to work together if you are to survive and recover.
In any situation where we come together to do something, we form what is called a community.
