The Types of Community
The Earth is now home to more than 7 billion people. If you stop to think about it, you soon realise that we are all linked to one another by many different kinds of community. Look at this diagram:

All these communities combine to form our human world.
As you grow from an infant into an adult, each of these different types of community affects your life in different ways. They help to make you the kind of person you are. Think about the impact they have on your life:
1. Your family
This is where you first learn what it means to be a member of a community: ¢ You figure out who you are and what you want out of life. ¢ You learn how you should behave towards others. Your family should help you to grow and develop into a confident, open-minded person with a healthy respect for yourself and for other people.
