and Water Resources Management. We were named an Ohio Center of Excellence in Emerging Technologies because of our prominence in graduating students in the STEM fields. Although Central State is celebrated for its preparation of diverse STEM graduates and is well prepared to serve as a sustainable talent pool for Central Ohio, many of our very talented students are unable to complete their journey for a multitude of non-academic related reasons.
With student retention and the expansion of technology-focused workforce development opportunities throughout Ohio as our focus, we collaborated with Oracle to deploy several innovations to ensure “no more lost talent.” Through the deployment of Oracle’s new Student Financial Planning Cloud powered by AI, the over 80% of our students who are dependent on financial aid will be able to receive automatic eligibility, instant disbursement, reduced time-to- aid, and debt reduction through the optimization of private and public funding sources.
In addition, as a participant in Oracle’s Workforce Development Program, Central State University will be one of less than 20 institutions in the U.S. and may be the only one in Ohio that will be able to offer Oracle certification training to corporate, government, military, and other non-traditional students. Supported by Oracle’s new Student Management Cloud also powered by AI, students (and employers) will be able to enroll instantly in certification courses and “pay-as-they-go” while they are being prepared with the critical technical skills to support the needs of Central Ohio employers.
With a focus on STEM-Ag, Central State is growing a new crop for Ohio: a sustainable talent pipeline for the CIO of tomorrow.
