The majority of independent retailers face a challenge in terms of available floor space in their showroom versus the range of products to display. If there is one thing that consumers want it is choice, but it is almost always impossible to showcase the full gamut of products available even from one manufacturer, let alone several, within the confines of a few square metres of showroom space. Not being able to see colours and finishes ‘in the flesh’ often makes it difficult for consumers to visualise them in their own homes, limiting the design potential too. Even in larger showrooms, where the issue of space is less of a problem, deciding on a layout and ensuring the displays are inspiring yet realistic can present its own challenges.
The latest design software is therefore not only having a huge impact on how retailers plan kitchen and bathrooms for their customers but also on how showrooms are laid out. An increasing number of kitchen and bathroom retailers are turning to technology, such as the Virtual Worlds 4D Theatre, for this reason.
