Connecting a dispersed workforce
Angela Moyle, Chief of Staff at elementsuite, explores the challenges of managing a frontline workforce in relation to recent work with professional cleaning provider Nviro.
As anyone working within the cleaning and facilities management sector knows, managing a frontline workforce across multiple sites poses several unique challenges. Looking at how Nviro’s teams are not only performing their duties effectively but are also engaged and motivated, I’d like to highlight the benefits of equipping site-based workers with the right technology to meet today’s modern workforce needs, especially for
frontline employees.
One of the most significant challenges faced by organisations managing large, dispersed teams is communication. Frontline workers, who are constantly on the move, need access to real-time information without the barriers of traditional communication systems. Younger workers, especially those in their late teens or early twenties, have grown up in a mobile-first world and expect the same immediacy and convenience in their workplace. People expect to be able to access the information they need – whether it’s scheduling updates or worksite changes – just as quickly as they do in their personal lives.
There’s no doubt that coordinating work schedules is one of the biggest headaches for anyone managing remote and frontline workers. Ensuring that the right people are
