Atlas adds ASG to become northern
powerhouse Atlas Group has announced the acquisition of Aston Services Group (ASG), a business with over 20 years of experience, based in Leyland, Lancashire.
The deal for the £20m turnover company strengthens Atlas’ presence in the region and brings ASG’s high-quality support services into the fast-growing group.
ASG mainly operates in the North of England and the Midlands, with 668 employees working across its contracts and offices. Its prestigious clients include Savills, Workman, APP and Bellrock, among many others. The majority of contracts are cleaning, security or a combination of both.
As a demonstrable example of its quality, ASG recently won a BACIL Award (Business Against Crime in Leeds) for best daytime security team. Its high-performance approach also centres on its own people. It is a Recognised Service Provider with the Living Wage Foundation and, like Atlas, has also signed the Armed Forces Covenant, as it employs many ex-service personnel and values them highly.
In the last 12 months, ASG has grown by 30% and states this is due to employing people who genuinely care about what they do. This was seen as important to the Atlas agreement, as it brings a complementary culture into an Atlas Group with a stated purpose of ‘Creating happiness’ for others.
Chris Wisely, Atlas Group CEO, said: “We’re delighted to bring ASG into our Atlas family. We see ASG as a regional leader with a reputation for quality. This grows our existing cleaning and security offering in the North and Midlands, and the warm and family style culture of ASG fits nicely with our own. We look forward to working with our newest colleagues as we seek to create happiness for more customers.”
Nick Atkinson, Managing Director of Aston Services Group, commented: “All of us at ASG are very excited about the benefits this deal brings to both us and Atlas. From an ASG point of view, this new arrangement will certainly help us grow the company and offer an even brighter future for all our talented team. Atlas’ scale also allows us to offer our high-quality services to even more prospective clients right across the UK.”
