young people with the confusion, fear and loneliness they often feel following the death of someone close.

Lorcan Mekitarian, Chair of the CHSA, said: “At the CHSA, we have a long track record of giving something back. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we have been able to make substantial donations to charities including the RNIB. We are delighted to continue this tradition with Grief Encounter and are looking forward to supporting the charity throughout 2022.”

The CHSA raises funds for its nominated charity at its Gala Ball and Annual Golf Day. It began raising funds for Grief Encounter in 2019, donating £5000 during the pandemic, despite not being able to host any major events. Thanks to the generosity of its members, the CHSA has raised a total of £20,000, which Grief Encounter is putting to good use.

Contributions of all sizes are essential to Grief Encounter’s work, for example:

• £50 pays for a one-to-one counselling session. • £100 provides a grief kit for a bereaved family.

• £500 will pay for a bereaved family to attend a residential weekend.

The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) has announced its continued support for UK charity Grief Encounter, as its nominated charity for 2022.

Around 45,000 children experience the death of a parent or sibling in the UK every year, with an additional 10,000 children having experienced bereavement as a direct result of COVID-19 in 2021.

Bereavement is devastating at any age, but for a child it is life changing. Grief Encounter offers a lifeline, providing free, immediate, one-to-one support that help children and

• £1000 will pay for a dedicated trauma specialist to conduct an initial response for one week with a school following the death of a student.

• £3000 pays for a family fun day for up to 80 bereaved children and their families.

The first fundraising event the CHSA will host in 2022 is its Gala Ball, taking place on Friday 20 May at the Staverton Park Estate, Daventry.

Revenue boost for Mrs Buckét

Mrs Buckét, a commercial cleaning company servicing Wales and the South West, has started 2022 by securing a trio of client wins.

These new contracts collectively amount to £500,000 of revenue, 30% of the company’s overall target for the year.

Rachael Flanagan, Founder and Managing Director of Mrs Buckét, commented: “2021 was one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, years I have ever had in my 16-year career. Mrs Buckét smashed several of its goals and we’re seeing this momentum continuing already into this year.

“We are honoured to be starting work with some of the biggest companies in Wales and the South West, and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them.

“Cleaning will continue to hold a seat at the top table for many 18 | WHAT’S NEW?

companies in 2022 and beyond. Leaders are continuing to work towards maintaining a safe environment for their workers as the country grapples with rising COVID-19 cases and fights against other nasty bugs and viruses. We are here to support them every step of the way.”

The growth targets for 2022 mean that Mrs Buckét is also looking to widen and strengthen its team this year. From Head of People to cleaning technicians, Team Leaders to a Social Media Content Executive, the company plans to create 100 new jobs in Wales and South West region of the UK.

Rachael continued: “We’re looking for the best talent the region has to offer to join our fun and flexible team. All we need are people with a ‘can-do attitude’ who are motivated and full of passion for their local community. We really value every single staff member’s contribution and have a policy that they interview me rather than the other way round, to ensure that we are the perfect fit for them."
