HOTEL & LEISURE FLOORING

meeting the highest of expectations.

For almost 50 years now, our dedicated designers have researched materials, techniques and trends from around the world to bring you floors at the cutting- edge of design. A versatile and extensive range of products equips designers and end users alike with flooring to complement any commercial space and on any scale. Good design doesn’t mean great expense, though, and whilst design, style and the whole area of aesthetics is an important factor, it’s not the only consideration. As the economy is tough, the amount of spend available for design schemes is being stretched even further. Looking for alternative and cost effective solutions, especially in flooring, is becoming the norm rather than the exception. That’s why alternatives to natural wood and stone, for example, need to be extremely hardwearing and look great long after they’ve been installed.

We are finding that more and more customers are turning to luxury vinyl alternatives such as Amtico. What with the revival of colour and patterns, luxury vinyl offers design flexibility and, with today’s technological advancements, it is extremely durable, sustainable and easy to install – ticking all the right boxes.

CASE STUDY:

Hotel La Tour Independent operator, Hotel La Tour, has recently opened its first venue in Birmingham city centre. The £24million development will be followed by four more locations across the UK in the next five years.

Space Invader Design Ltd were appointed to execute the design elements of the front of house fit out – and they looked no further than two stunning ranges from Amtico. Their brief was to ensure that each space had its own identity and presence within the 4* hotel, while still maintaining the brand’s classic look with a modern twist. The first range opted for was Wild Walnut, a

beautifully sophisticated dark wood effect plank with vanilla highlights that has a wear layer of 1mm and bevelled edges. The second was Classic Oak, another wooden- style plank that creates a perfectly traditional look and also has a wear layer of 1mm and bevelled edges. Both ranges are part of the Amtico Signature collection and come with a 25 year warranty as standard.

John Williams, Director at Space Invader, explained his choices: “We chose Amtico Wild Walnut and Classic Oak for use throughout the restaurant and café areas for their durability and compatibility with the contemporary setting of the hotel.”
