Effi cient water absorption means that single use paper towels offer the best performance for avoiding bacterial con- tamination when hand drying.
Blowing of soiled water increases the risk of spreading bacteria in washrooms.
On average, the user of a jet air dryer is likely to be exposed to over 1000 times more micro-organisms than the user of a paper hand towel dispenser.
The World Health Organisation recom- mends to ‘dry hands thoroughly with single use towels’.
