Chromatography 7 New innovation in GC gas generation technology at ASMS 2025
Peak Scientifi c, the leading manufacturer of gas generation solutions, has launched their newest series of products for GC instruments, Intura, at ASMS 2025 in Baltimore, MD. The range of hydrogen, nitrogen and zero air generators are a premium, on-demand solution for labs who are looking to increase their productivity and quality of their analysis.
Following on from - and improving upon - their fl agship GC package, the Precision series, Peak have designed and manufactured a range of generators which offer GC labs fl exibility when it comes to fl ow rate, gas type, pressure, and much more. Intura is designed for labs who need high-purity carrier and detector gas in a compact, space saving footprint for their GC.
Peak’s GC Product Manager, Dr Ed Connor, said: “ASMS is the biggest event in our calendar so it’s always exciting to launch a new product at the show and the team of engineers responsible for the Intura series have done a fantastic job of creating one of the most cutting-edge GC gas solutions in one of the smallest footprints on the market.
“We spent time talking to our customers about their requirements and wants when it comes to a gas solution and we believe we’ve designed the best solution to meet these demands.
“Overall, we have signifi cantly reduced the size and footprint of the generators as well as managing to achieve a much lower power consumption across the series, compared with the product’s predecessor. We’ve also introduced a new CAT chamber design, improved PSA dryer for our hydrogen offerings, and introduced our patented AirMax intake fi lter in our nitrogen and zero air generators to ensure the best performance for our customers.”
Intura embodies innovation in lab gas generation engineering technology which maximises uptime and delivers a premium offering for customers to aid in their critical work.

Durable fl ow-through pH probe
Biotech Fluidics introduces the mikron 91, a compact and durable inline pH probe designed for analytical and preparative chromatography, as well as continuous bioprocessing applications. This advanced fl ow-through sensor provides precise, temperature-compensated pH measurements of liquids passing through its two available fl ow cell designs. Both the analytical and preparative mikron 91 variants support fl ow rates up to 1,000 ml/min, maintaining back pressure below 1 bar (14.5 psi). Easy access to the fl uid path simplifi es calibration, ensuring minimal disruption during maintenance.
Measuring just 32 mm (1.25”) in diameter and 115 mm (4.5”) in length, the mikron 91 fi ts seamlessly into a wide range of process setups. The probe houses a fully temperature-compensated pH meter featuring a durable ISFET measuring electrode alongside either a KCl or Ag/AgCl reference electrode. This combination guarantees reliable, accurate pH readings under varied operating conditions.
Constructed with a biocompatible measuring cell, the mikron 91 is certifi ed for use in USP Class VI cleanroom environments, making it suitable for stringent pharmaceutical and biotech processes.
Designed to boost operational effi ciency, the probe stores key data including calibration history, electrode operating times, and exposure durations across different pH ranges. This enables predictive maintenance, helping to reduce downtime and control costs. Maintenance of the mikron 91 is straightforward, quick, and economical.
Connectivity is streamlined via a single USB-C port that supplies both power and communication. Compatible drivers are available for leading chromatography software, with an open protocol option for custom integration. The mikron 91 complies with international standards and carries CE marking. Automation module adds compatibility with OpenLab CDS
The Molnár-Institute for Applied Chromatography is excited to announce the launch of a new version of its groundbreaking DryLab®
Automation Module, now fully compatible with
Agilent’s OpenLab CDS chromatography data system software. This new release expands the module’s capabilities, previously available exclusively for the Waters Empower CDS, and brings enhanced functionality to a broader user base.
Previously, Empower CDS users could leverage DryLab® creation, facilitate the acquisition of DryLab®
to automate sample set method input and verifi cation experiments, and retrieve
processed chromatograms and key peak data directly from the CDS database, all without manual export steps. Now, Agilent OpenLab CDS users can experience these same benefi ts and more with this seamless integration.
The integration between DryLab® enabling automated data import directly into DryLab®
and OpenLab CDS signifi cantly increases effi ciency by . This streamlines the workfl ow,
accelerates method evaluation, and reduces the risk of manual transfer errors, ultimately improving data consistency throughout the process.
It also enhances reproducibility. The direct connection between the two platforms ensures a smooth, uninterrupted workfl ow that consistently delivers highly reproducible results during method development and optimisation.
In addition, the integration is designed for seamless network compatibility. It requires only a straightforward DryLab®
update on the Agilent OpenLab client, allowing the automation
module to be quickly incorporated into existing network infrastructure and providing effortless access across the laboratory system.
This new release brings the power of DryLab® ’s cutting-edge analytical software to Agilent
OpenLab CDS users, empowering them with increased productivity, better accuracy, and enhanced method development. The integration highlights Molnár-Institute’s ongoing commitment to advancing chromatographic science through innovative, user-friendly software solutions.
