Corrosion-resistant multi-position analogue hot plates and stirrers
Torrey Pines Scientific, Inc unveils its new corrosion-resistant analogue hot plates and stirrers, available in 5- and 9-position configurations, designed for acid digestions and handling corrosive solutions.
These units feature a 12” (305 mm) square ceramic heater top with a temperature range up to 450°C. A purge port for inert gas is located at the rear, allowing easy purging with positive pressure. The chassis is sealed to prevent corrosive vapours from entering and damaging electronics or stirrer motors.
The 5-position model is ideal for stirring 5–800ml beakers, while the 9-position model accommodates 9–500ml beakers. Both models offer stirring speeds between 100 and 1500 rpm, with individual control for each position.
Measuring 19” (432 mm) deep by 12.5” (318 mm) wide by 5.25” (134 mm) tall, these units support over 50 pounds (22.6 kg) on the plate surface. Controls are positioned safely away from the heater to prevent burns, and the design protects the chassis from spills.
Available in 115VAC/60Hz, 220VAC/60Hz, and 230VAC/50Hz, these units are equipped with an AC on/off switch, fuses for safety, and are ETL, CSA, and CE or equivalent rated. Each unit includes a user manual and detachable line cord based on the country of use.

New generation magnetic hotplate stirrers
Velp is unveiling its new Advance Series of magnetic hotplate stirrers – AREX 5 Advance, AREC 7 Advance, and AREC 10 Advance – alongside a refreshed brand identity that refl ects the company’s legacy of innovation and forward-looking vision.
Designed for modern laboratories, the Advance Series combines precision, reliability, and connectivity. The stirrers feature capacitive touch controls, durable tempered glass displays, high-precision thermoregulation, and programmable stirring modes. Real-time monitoring of viscosity and temperature ramps, along with USB data export and remote cloud access via Velp Ermes, allows scientists to manage experiments from anywhere. Enhanced safety features and chemical resistance support demanding workfl ows while minimising supervision.
The Advance models cater to different laboratory needs. The AREX 5 Advance offers a compact 135 mm round plate for precise heating and small-scale reactions. The AREC 7 Advance provides a versatile 7x7 inch ceramic top for everyday laboratory tasks, while the AREC 10 Advance is designed for high-volume operations with a large 10x10 inch surface, delivering uniform heating and uncompromised control.

ilmt.co/PL/GwE7 World’s smallest single-use disk stack centrifuge
GEA introduces the kytero® 10, the world’s smallest single-use disk stack centrifuge, designed for the biopharmaceutical, food, and new food industries. This mini centrifuge is ideal for product development, particularly in small bioreactor setups, and is used for the separation of bacteria, cell cultures, and yeasts, as well as applications in cell and gene therapy. The kytero® 10 is the smallest model in GEA’s range for cell separation and recirculation, catering to volumes from one to 10 litres.
Thanks to its low-shear design, the kytero® 10 maintains high cell viability during continuous cell harvesting and perfusion processes, offering effi cient centrifugal separation from laboratory scale up to production. It’s the perfect solution for the smallest batch and perfusion fermenters. GEA’s other kytero® models cover ranges from 500 to 2,000 litres, with test users reporting that the concept successfully overcomes previous limitations, providing scalable results that transition smoothly to larger production models.
GEA’s proven disc stack centrifuge technology is integrated into compact, user- friendly units that include all parts in contact with the product. These units are easily exchanged after production runs, ensuring maximum safety against contamination. Gamma-treated exchangeable units come as standard.
The kytero® 10 offers the same advantages as classic disk stack separators but eliminates the need for cleaning (CIP and SIP), enabling rapid operation with only electricity and air required. The compact design and intuitive operation ensure simple integration into any system. Additionally, the breeze Drive® non-contact drive system guarantees safe operation under high biocontainment conditions.
By enabling continuous operation and clarifi cation during the perfusion period, the kytero® 10 reduces bioreactor size and production costs, accelerating product development. This makes it an essential tool for industries such as vaccines and monoclonal antibody production. The kytero® 10 completes the kytero® series, providing scalable and robust upstream solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry.
