Air Monitoring 45 New NO2 Analyser gets the Double Certification: TÜV and US EPA

Designed to alleviate chemiluminiscence disadvantages and to provide the most accurate value for NO2 concentration direct measurements, the new AS32M analyser from Environnement S.A (France) is perfectly suited for detecting short events with high precision, with no catalytic conversion required, not sensitive to other nitro-containing species and with no Toxic Gas Emissions.

Based on Cavity Attenuated Phase Shift Spectroscopy (CAPS), the AS32M is the unique analyser on the market suitable for direct, continuous and fast nitrogen dioxide measurements. Recently certified by the German TÜV as compliant with EN14211:2012, EN15267-1:2009, EN15267-2:2009, VDI4202-1:2010 and VDI4203-3:2010, the AS32M has been designated Automated Equivalent Method by the US EPA (EQNA-0913-210).

Exclusive benefits include: “True NO2” measurement (i.e. without conversion), It operates on any full scale range between 0-500 ppb and 0-1000 ppb, Ultra sensitive, Highly selective, Short response time measurement, Reduced maintenance (no converter, no O3 generator, no cleaning of the chamber…), Reduced operational cost…

Main applications include: Continuous indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring, Traffic stations: near-road, tunnels, canyon streets, Traffic Pollution Control, Medical gases measurements, Industrial fence-line monitoring, Measurement Campaigns and Monitoring Studies…

The monitor is also equipped with built-in serial interface (RS 232 / RS 422), USB and TCP/IP connectivity. Its multi-tasking and multi-language es@cloud user interface software, running on a powerful on-board html web server, offers a user-friendly access to the instrument with any internet browser for data recovery, display, configuration, maintenance, diagnostics or software updating of the analyser, remotely, from any PC, tablet or iPhone.

Online System Trap Gas Chromatography FID Coupled to Mass Spectroscopy

Chromatotec (France) has increased its expertise in gas analysis and its field of analysers by developing a new GC/MS analyser for continuous VOC surveillance in the atmosphere.

This system uses the same trap, thermo- desorption and separation technologies as current GCs analysers. However, a Quadrupole is used in addition to the FID. The FID quantifies and identifies according to the retention time, whereas, the mass spectroscopy analyser measures the mass of analysed ions. The combination of these two detectors has resulted in an improvement in gas analysis expertise.

This system is designed for industrial

application. The instrument may be inserted in a 19’’ rack and can be controlled remotely from another computer. It will now be possible to analyse a new range of compounds with this system. A demonstration instrument is currently running in Chromatotec's laboratory analysing VOC in the atmosphere. For this arrangement, a calibration system is used along with a zero air and a hydrogen generator. Possible applications include monitoring of VOCs (BTEX, phenol, etc), PAH (benzo(a) pyrene), chloride compounds (chlorobenzene and PCB), dioxin, and leak detection in clean air room.

The New NOxOx Gas Analyser

Combining NOx and O2 measurements is the minimal configuration for an extractive continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS). It makes a simple and cost effective approach to meet legal requirements as some

countries impose a special NOx tax for emission loads. Selective catalytic reduction systems are another example for use of this information.

Eco Physics (Switzerland) has accomplished such a compact system without sacrificing analytical truth by utilising the most acknowledged technologies: Chemiluminescence detection (CLD) for nitrogen oxides measurement and a paramagnetic cell for the determination of the oxygen values. These measurement methods stand for a vast dynamic range, high accuracy, perfect linearity and great reliability.

The new instrument is based on Eco Physics proven CLD 60 series with a state-of-the-art man machine interface. The colour touch screen shows data or complete records in graphical mode. On line curves are available as well. Extensive data storage and simple connectivity are implicit features. USB connectors at the front extract data to a memory stick or connect a PC mouse. The HDMI plug allows attaching a bigger screen or a beamer. And the Ethernet socket is your access point to your local network.
