Bruker Launches SCION 436 and 456 Gas Chromatographs
Bruker recently announced the launch of the SCION series of 436 and 456 Gas Chromatographs at Analytica held in Munich. Setting a new standard for data acquisition speed with >600 Hz per channel, these two GCs set the standard for high-productivity GC analysis. The SCION 436-GC accommodates two injectors and two detectors (one standard GC and one mass spectrometer), the perfect space-saving solution for any laboratory. The SCION 456-GC supports three injectors and four detectors, including the mass spectrometer. A rapid time-to-benefit advantage is available due to its ability to simultaneously acquire data from the four detectors.

SCION Series of Gas Chromatographs a Truly Global Platform
The 436- and 456-GCs feature high-resolution touch screen technology in an impressive thirteen languages. Users simply select their language of choice from a drop down menu and instantly all prompts, headings, and menus change to the selected language. A true global approach that greatly simplifies startup and support for the SCION gas chromatographs in any laboratory. The easy-to-use GCs offer reliable performance supported by simple maintenance – a must for any user.

Multi-residue analysis in complex food matrices is a notoriously difficult task made easy thanks to the Bruker SCION TQ GC-MS/MS system. GC-MS/MS when operated in the multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode offers high specificity and capability of analysing many product ions of a large number of compounds. As it is common to run thousands of MRM’s in one method, the compound-based screening (CBS) approach by Bruker is an algorithm that has been developed to simplify MRM method development. This approach is outlined in an Application Note on the analysis of 49 pesticides in pumpkin extract on a Bruker SCION TQ GC-MS/MS system; the results show good reproducibility and robustness.
