48 Advertisers Index Surge Ahead With Changes in Management Team

BioTector (Ireland) global manufacturer of online liquid analysers has recently announced the internal appointments of David Horan as Chief Executive Officer and of Martin Horan as Chairman. This will facilitate continuing growth worldwide.

David has worked with BioTector since 2006 and, in his previous position as Sales & Operations Director, has grown the company exponentially and was instrumental in the appointment of global distributors including Hach and Hach Lange.

“It’s a great time for BioTector.” said David “Sales are increasing year on year, our Distributors are seeing more success with BioTector analysers than ever and our international reputation is gaining momentum all the time. I’m delighted to be stepping into this role although Martin is a big act to follow. BioTector has been around for almost 20 years now and it’s an honour to be working towards the future with a strong team in place. ”

David succeeds Martin Horan who has moved into the position of Company Chairman. Having established and grown BioTector since 1995, Martin will now focus on Research & Development while continuing his work as company spokesperson within the Online Water Analysis industry. “With

technology developed here in Ireland, BioTector analysers have proven themselves over the years to give greater process insights, energy optimisation, product loss prevention and treatment plant protection.” commented Martin “Our R&D experts work tirelessly to develop bespoke industry solutions and we’re planning a new product launch this summer so there’s lots to keep me busy while David continues the day-to-day running of BioTector.”

Visual Observation of Materials in Supercritical and High Pressure Fluids

The SFT Phase Monitor II from Supercritical Fluid Technologies (USA), is a powerful tool for determining the solubility of various compounds and mixtures in supercritical and high-pressure fluids. It provides direct, visual observation of materials under conditions precisely controlled by the researcher. Experiments may be performed in liquids, supercritical carbon dioxide or other liquefied gases. The effect of co-solvents on the solubility of compounds of interest may be investigated as well. The Phase

Monitor II allows the user direct observation of the dissolution, precipitation and crystallisation of compounds over a wide range of pressures

and temperatures. Advanced studies may be done to determine melting point depressions and the degree of polymer swelling in SF CO2 or traditional solvents. Experiments can be performed at pressures up to 10,000 psi and from ambient temperature to 150º centigrade.

One Handed Disconnections that Prevent Fluid Flow Escaping

Are you looking for connectors that will permit one hand disconnections and prevent fluid flow from escaping? If you are your search ends right here. The snap type of quick disconnect can be easily connected and disconnected. To connect, simply push the two halves together and to disconnect, slide the knurled sleeve back towards the internal side of the fitting. All of the quick disconnects need an internal (female) and external (male) end to function properly. The connectors, from Beswick, are available in 303 stainless steel and most models available in brass and 316 stainless steel. While connected, the quick disconnects are rated for an operating pressure of 500 psi (34 bar). For higher pressure applications, a bayonet style quick disconnect is available that can handle up to 3,000 psi (206 bar). The multi-line quick disconnect shown in the photograph has a keyed locating pin to insure correct orientation when connecting. Multi-line quick disconnects are available in 4, 6, and 8 lines.
