Air Monitoring - UK Focus MCERTS Approved CEMS
The Gasmet AMS (CEMS) uses an FTIR analyser, the established technique for multi-component gas emissions measurements. A single Gasmet Cx- 4000 analyser can perform analysis of a complex gas mixture in a hot, wet gas stream with the highest precision. MCERTS approved, the AMS incorporates the analysers and sample handling components as well as a PC to run the analyser and provide data output. The AMS is configured specifically for each application but is easily reconfigured to add new compounds to the analysis when the process or application varies.

99 Fast Oil in Water Analysis
Would Help Fracking Relatively small quantities of hydrocarbon have the potential to contaminate enormous volumes of water resources, so fast onsite oil in water analysis is an important protective measure in a wide variety of applications such as fracking and those involving the production, handling, storage and distribution of oils and fuels. Quantitech’s Dr Andrew Hobson says "If fracking is to become popular in the UK, onsite analysis will be necessary to appease the environmental concerns of those that oppose the technique.”
With over 2,200 portable InfraCal TOG/TPH Analysers in use worldwide, Dr Hobson says "The main reason behind this instrument’s popularity is that it enables users to perform accurate on-site tests without having to incur the cost and delay of laboratory analysis. In the case of fracking, fast results would demonstrate that no contamination has taken place or enable a swift response to any leak or spill of contaminated water."

“We’ve got an ‘APP’ for that!”
Quantitech (UK) has supplied DPSS Cabling Services with unique hydrogen specific gas monitors for use at 14 different back up power facilities that utilise uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
DPSS ordered the HY-ALERTA 600 version of the hydrogen monitoring technology, which provides hydrogen-specific leak detection and has no cross sensitivity to other combustible gases, thereby eliminating false positive alarms and ensuring safety system reliability.
Quantitech’s Keith Golding says. "There are many applications for which hydrogen specific monitoring is important. These cover both health and safety, and process control within a wide variety of industrial applications including petrochemical refineries, hydrogen production, chlorine manufacture, nuclear power/waste, fossil fuel power, chrome plating, research, semiconductor and electronics manufacture, abatement exhausts, transformer oil, fuel cell technologies and of course lead acid battery monitoring."

Transportable CEMS Can be Hired
The MCERTS approved Gasmet DX4000 transportable FTIR gas emissions analyser is available for hire from Quantitech.
Able to monitor multiple gases simultaneously even in emissions that are hot, corrosive and high in moisture, the DX4000 is ideal for a wide variety of gas analysis applications. Quantitech's Dr Andrew Hobson says "The DX4000 is popular for renting because of its portability and flexibility; it has the same capability as a rack mounted CEMS, but provides users with the ability to measure almost any gas at multiple sites, so it can be used to verify fixed CEMS, and for research and investigative work. It is also often hired as customers 'try before they buy'."
The DX4000 is typically set up to measure H2O, CO2, CO, NO, NO2, N2O, SO2, NH3, CH4, HCl, HF and a variety of different VOC´s, but additional gases can be added without any
hardware changes. Easy-to-use Calcmet™ software is supplied with the analyser and results can be displayed in ppm, mg/Nm3
