60 Flow Level Pressure Electronic Pressure Switch Launched
AFRISO’s new EDS 10 electronic pressure switch converts the pressure of liquid or gaseous media into an electrical signal. EDS 10 allows the user to defi ne up to two selectable points for switching or switching back. The unit is programmed by means of two keys and the menu. The pressure switch can be rotated by 330° and tilted by 300° so that it can be used under adverse mounting conditions. A 4-digit 7-segment LED display shows the system pressure (selectable pressure units bar, mbar, psi or MPa).
The pressure switch features a piezo-resistive stainless steel measuring cell. Sensors are available for all standard measuring ranges from 0/100 mbar to 0/600 bar. Starting at a nominal pressure of greater than 1 bar, EDS 10 is vacuum-tight without limitations. At 0/400 mbar and higher, the accuracy amounts to ≤ ±0.35 %.
The EDS 10 is supplied with DC 18–30 V and provides, depending on the requirements, two PNP or NPN switching outputs, alternatively a 4 –20 mA output plus PNP or NPN output (all in SIO mode). EDS 10 was developed for 100 x 108 switching cycles with a switching frequency of up 200 Hz and delay times from 0 to 50 s.
The new measuring instrument is suitable for temperatures of the medium of -40/125 °C. All standard ¼” or ½” connections are available for the process connection. A 4-pin M12 x 1 metal connector is used for standard electrical connection. The pressure switch is optionally available with other seal materials (EPDM) and other electrical connections. Main application areas comprise monitoring of gaseous or liquid media in plant engineering and mechanical engineering. EDS 10 is an ideal solution for hydraulic and pneumatic systems where high switching accuracy is required.
TS Mark Product Certifi cation Approval for Taiwan has been Granted

The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has granted the TS mark certifi cation to SOR for much of the Pressure Switch and Level Switch line. The TS mark is a product safety approval that allows the installation of products into Taiwan.
SOR 102/103 Differential Pressure Switches, R/B Series Pressure and Temperature Switches, HB/HBME Explosion Proof Terminal Box Accessories and Large Level Switches with S3 or T6 housings have all received the TS Mark.

New Laser Level Transmitter Offers High Accuracy for Harsh Environments
New laser level transmitter can measure the level of any material, solid or liquid, in any condition.
ABB has expanded its level measurement portfolio with the addition of the LLT100 laser level transmitter. Specifi cally designed for industrial applications and harsh environments, the LLT100 enables precise measurement of any solid or liquid surface, including clear liquids from –40° to +60°C (–40 to +140°F), or up to 280°C (535°F) with a cooling tube.
With its IP67/NEMA 4X explosion proof class 1 / division 1 (zone 1) enclosure, it can be used in a range of applications, including mining, aggregates, oil and gas, chemicals, food and beverages, power, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals and water and waste water.
Offering a resolution of 5 mm, an accuracy of ±20 mm and an eye-safe, Class 1 laser beam with a divergence of less than 0.35°, the LLT100 can be used in low visibility conditions. Its range spans from 0.5 to 30 m for liquids, 0.5
to 100 m for solids and 0.5 m to 200 m for positioning applications with a refl ective target.
A rotating bracket and a swivel fl ange option allows precision aiming of the beam, while a laser pointer tool is used to provide a visual reference when aligning the LLT100.
With no maintenance or calibration needed, the LLT100 offers a low cost of ownership. Featuring ABB’s common four-button HMI, it offers fast and fl exible installation and an easy setup function, with the use of a Through-the- Glass (TTG) user interface eliminating the need to remove the transmitter cover.
The LLT100’s standard enclosure material is powder-coated aluminium, with 316L stainless steel as an option. This, together with with a choice of a range of fl ange fi ttings or Tri-Clover 3-A, makes the LLT100 suitable for food production applications or others where a high standard of hygiene is demanded. Outputs are both analog, using NAMUR compliant 4 to 20 mA, and digital HART 7.
For non-ideal conditions, various accessories and options are also available. These include a dust tube to prevent dirt or splashing liquids getting on to the lens and the option of a heated lens to help prevent condensation forming that could affect performance.
A number of services are provided by ABB to help ensure the continued operation of the LLT100 throughout its life. These include product commissioning, maintenance and fi eld services, repairs, spares parts services and training.
The LLT100 transmitter is part of ABB’s family of non-contact laser volume and level products offering accurate measurement in a range of applications including inventory in bunkers, blending hoppers, reactor vessels, level control, volumetric measurement, and various dry bulk solids and liquids in silos.

Honeywell Adds Liquid Flow Capability to Controledge Remote Terminal Unit
Honeywell (NYSE: HON) Process Solutions (HPS) today announced a new release of the company’s ControlEdge™ Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), which now offers measurement of both gas and liquid fl ow. The newest version of the product also now offers expanded HART support, which allows for easier device commissioning and diagnostics.
The new electronic fl ow metering capability supports liquid custody transfer per the American Petroleum Institute (API) 21.2 guidelines in North America. This latest release increases the effi ciency of remote asset management by doubling as a fl ow meter, as well as allowing operators to automate loop check and commissioning, reduce hard-wired input/output (I/O) devices, and extend device diagnostics.
