Safe, Easy UN3373 Sample Transport
Fundamental Checks of Water Quality in One Go
Trans Instruments is pleased to announce the addition of the new HM3070 AquaCombo meter, which simultaneously measures fundamental water parameters - namely pH, Dissolved Oxygen, Conductivity or Salinity, and Temperature.
The latest addition to the SpeciSafe® range,
from Alpha Laboratories, is a pack to enclose two paediatric blood or serum tubes. This extends the existing 1, 3, 6 and 10 serum vial packs. The dual serum tube pack also includes two stands to secure tubes for opening on the bench. In addition this versatile design can accommodate a single 1.2ml Monovette tube.
The unique SpeciSafe® secondary packaging
containers are proving to be very popular with users. They make compliance with the Dangerous Goods Regulations a piece of cake! Quick and easy to use, they prevent leaks to provide a safe, convenient and economical solution for UN3373 compliant mailing of biological and clinical specimens. The complete range includes solutions for screw cap microtubes, vacuum blood collection tubes, cryovials, Universal and Bijou containers, plus swabs/transport tubes.
The SpeciSafe packs provide a shock resistant protective casing for primary containers ensuring compliance to UN3373 standards when used with 95kPa vials. The simple user- friendly one piece package is quick and intuitive to use. It incorporates a unique ultra-absorbent gel block lining to soak up and retain any vial leakage, ensuring complete protection.
The clear plastic window means sample details and labels are visible and leakage can be detected prior to opening so appropriate precautions can be taken. The compliant flat pack design also reduces costs by minimising postage charges.
SpeciSafe is available as a complete ‘turnkey’ package including UN3373 labelled polyethylene and Mail Tuff padded mailing envelopes. These can even be customised and ready labelled with your logo, address, Royal Mail business reply reference etc.

The HM3070 AquaCombo meter is specially designed for full portability, simplicity and ease of use which meets general environmental measurements. With a pH range of 2 to 12pH at a resolution of 0.1, Conductivity of up to 69mS, salinity up to 42ppt, Dissolved Oxygen level up to 30ppm and temperature of 0 to 60°C, the meter is ideally suited to aquaculture monitoring, open or closed water systems, environmental water checks, waste water control etc.
Calibration is made simple with 3 point buffer recognition calibration for pH, single point calibration at a preferred Conductivity range and in-air calibration for Dissolved Oxygen.
This meter is robust and rugged with a waterproof rating at IP67 for usage in hash weather conditions. A regular 1 meter cable probe for pH and conductivity and a 3 meter cable probe for DO will meet most measuring situations. The meter is able to store up to 99 data points in its memory. Now everyone, even site workers, can operate this simple to use AquaCombo meter.
