100 % Bio-inert Instrumentation
Based on the proven technology of the 1200 Infinity Series liquid chromatography platform, the 1260 Infinity Multi- Detector Bio-SEC solution handles with ease the challenging solvent conditions commonly used for analysis of proteins and bio-therapeutics. The entire flow path is completely metal-free to ensure reproducible data.
Advanced Light Scattering Detectors
The addition of laser light scattering detection offers the advantage of being able to measure the absolute molecular weight without the need to calibrate the SEC columns with narrow standards. Dynamic light scattering adds the ability to be able to assess molecular size and calculate the hydrodynamic radius, Rh.
The dead volumes between the detectors are kept to a minimum to avoid band broadening effects. The light scattering detector has the smallest flow cell of any instrument commercially available at only 10ul. Separation efficiency is absolutely assured.
Light scattering detection is an important technique being increasingly used to study the aggregation of these biomolecules which can be a major problem, since it can cause immuno-response issues which in turn can result in death or serious injury during patient treatment.
