Hotplate Adapter Provides Precise Control Over Reaction Temperatures
Dolomite has introduced the Mitos Hotplate Adapter, enabling exact temperature control of microfluidic chips in conjunction with a range of hotplates. With the ability to hold a chip in position, the Mitos Hotplate Adapter is compatible with the Mitos Micromixer chip, the Mitos T-junction chip, the Mitos Thin-layer chip and the Mitos Droplet Generator chip for advanced management of fluid heating.
With a compact footprint of 39 x 43mm, the Hotplate Adapter provides precise control over reaction temperatures, helping the user to accurately evaluate microfluidic concepts as quickly as possible. Furthermore, its excellent chemical compatibility, along with quick-chip connection and release make it extremely easy to use in heat-controlled microfluidic applications.
Dolomite’s Mitos Hotplate provides a temperature range of room temperature to 300°C, facilitating a wide range of processes. This hotplate is digitally controlled with an external Pt100 (thermocouple) temperature probe, which can be attached to the Hotplate Adapter for optimal temperature control.
Circle no. 382 ADVERTORIAL A Multitude of Possibilities in Drying
With its compact design and simple operation, the Glass Oven B-585 opens up a wide range of possibilities for the laboratory. Features such as a bright and clear graphic display, fast heating up, excellent visibility, rotation function and the vacuum proofed design make the Glass Oven
B-585 unique and particularly easy to use. The Vacuum Pump V-700 or V-700 Advanced with Vacuum Controller V-850, a quiet chemically resistant PTFE diaphragm pump, completes the innovative drying package to provide an optimal solution for manifold drying processes. Drying and distillation processes are normally operated under vacuum conditions to decrease the vapour pressure. An external vacuum pump can be connected to the Glass Oven. The program control allows the pump to be switched on and off.
The drying principle is based on the indirect heating with two concentric glass tubes. On the outer glass tube an electrically conductive coating serves as heating element. Thus, radiation is the relevant heat transfer mechanism resulting in a uniform heat input from all sides. Due to the direct and controlled radiation from the heating tube to the drying product, the process time can be significantly shortened. The adjustable working angle of the heating tube allows operation in vertical position for large volumes up to 250 ml, whereas the horizontal position gives an increased product surface for quick drying.
The transparent sample area is easily visible. If there are signs of thermal degradation, the process can be interrupted immediately.
With a minimum of bench space, the Glass Oven B-585 enables even to perform sublimation or freeze drying. In addition to the classical inserts for drying, Kugelrohr distillation and sublimation, the freeze drying accessory allows small scale lyophilisation. The design of the freeze drying insert is particularly suitable for drying organic samples, for pharmaceutical and food-processing solutions as well as for extreme temperature conserving processes. Due to the addition of heat via radiation, the substance is freeze dried quickly and evenly.
The Glass Oven B-585 with its multiple tasks is your optimal personal assistant in the laboratory! Good things come in small packages- forget the big ovens: Think small first! Please visit our homepage at
