AROUND TOWN
Saving
Founded in 2002, Rain Rescue has saved the lives of thousands of cats and dogs most at risk in and around Yorkshire; animals that are at fear of destruction or suffering. Their rescue centre, based in Rotherham, provides the space and support needed for these abandoned animals to recover, thrive and find a loving home.
The beautiful animals that find themselves at Rain Rescue have often lived through years of pain and neglect. Dogs in stray kennels who are due to be put down when their statutory seven days of care run out, or abandoned cats who have been left alone or thrown out onto the street with nobody to care for them. Rain Rescue work hard to match them with the new owners they deserve.
This Christmas, the charity has created two supaw cute calendars to raise money to help support the animals in their foster care. Each calendar is £10 plus postage and can be ordered through their website.
They are also looking for new owners for some of their resident animals who have been with the charity for a while and are in need of a forever home. Could you be the right person or family to help?

for a quieter home and people who will be sensitive to her fears. She’s not a dog to be rehomed with children and would prefer a one or two-person household as people scare her, but could be rehomed to live with a confident dog, preferably a lurcher or saluki.
Tim
This five-year-old male cat has his quirks but is super affectionate and is looking for experienced cat owners without young children. He can be a free spirit so ideally would prefer a house with access to a safe and quiet outside area so he can have his adventure when he feels the need to.

Flick and Yvette This pair of two-year-old cats came
to Rain Rescue as long-term strays after their feeder passed away. While they can be timid with people due to the nature of their background, they are very playful and enjoy the company of other cats. Ideally, they’d like to be rehomed together, or at least in a home with other cats if separately.
