OUT & ABOUT

Langsett Reservoir Less than five miles from

Penistone sits Sheffield’s biggest water supply reservoir which boasts some of the most breath-taking views across the water vista. This walk is particularly popular with visitors during the winter months. From the free car park, you can go two ways to walk the full perimeter of the reservoir: either via the road or through woodlands, both of which take you up a steady

climb to a moorland area and the North America ruins. But your rewards will be the resplendent panoramic views. Bird watchers may spot interesting species including treecreepers, owls and woodpeckers.

The short woodland walk is accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs, however the climb to the moors is craggy and can be difficult under foot so please take due care and attention.

Get active

But this year, particularly during tighter restrictions, it is more important than ever to keep our bodies active and our minds healthy.

Here are some of our top ways of keeping healthy in a Covid safe way.

Join a walking group

Walking groups are the perfect way to keep active with so many health benefits. Firstly, they get you out into the fresh air which can give you more energy and reduce stress and anxiety. They also encourage you to socialise with like-minded people while still being able to maintain social distancing guidelines.

Virtual classes
