HEALTH & BEAUTY Let’s come together this festive season with Chris Moody of Moodyhair
There’s no doubt that Christmas 2020 is going to be quite different from previous years. In fact, the wholeof 2020 will remainin our memories more clearly than any other.
For those of us in the retail sectors, Christmas is by far themost important part of our year, often contributing toa large proportion of our annualbusiness. Thereare well over 40,000 hair salonsoperating in the UK, at least one for every high street, so it’s safeto say salons are key players in our local towns and cities. During this difficulttime, we’ve all recognised how vitalour high streets and local businesses have become in helping us get what we
need withouttravelling too far. Local food stores, shopsand hair salons have helped keep us stocked, supplied and, in the case of visiting the hair salon, sane!
So how can we return our gratitude to salons over the coming Christmas holiday season? Maybe we could look beyondour phones, laptops and global online retailers and, instead of buying something from theother side of the world, buy something closer to home. Christmas is the perfect time
to treat someoneto something they may notbuy themselves, so talk to your local salon aboutgift packs and home hair care treats. If you’re buying for someone who already visitsthe salon, their stylist can adviseon the best products for them. Most salons will offer a full exchangeif the product isn’t quite right.
Just like here at Moodyhair, many salons sell pre-paid vouchers which make an excellent gift for family and friends. One of thebest parts is that your friend or loved one can enjoy the gift after the rush of Christmas has passed; a bright moment to look forward to in the darkest winter months. Contact your local salon to see what’s available. Most salons will allow you to buy vouchers in various amounts; at Moodyhair you can pre-pay for aspecific serviceif you don’t want to reveal the amount you’re spending.
Do you know someone who is always struggling to get their hair just right? Why not treatthat person to aone-to-one coaching session with their stylist. At Moodyhair, like many salons, we offer a one-hour
personalised service where thestylist will coach thepersonand offer useful tips about how to style their own hair at home.
So, this festive season, let’sall pledge to support those around us. Instead of searching thegiant online retailers, look out for markets, fairs and pop up events close to you. Most craftersmarkets will have local suppliers of hair, skin and beauty products. Always one to practice what I preach, I’ll be shopping local. Let’s enjoy this season and help to remember 2020 for the time when we all came together.
