Business is about creating and delivering value for your customers. Whatever we might write today about the status of Covid-19 and its immediate impact on our industry seems unlikely to remain relevant for long. And even businesses with strong risk assessment and contingency planning have likely had to adapt on-the-move to many recent events. But the principles that built your business – serving your customers with integrity, communicating clearly with your employees – will continue to serve you well. While most of the
content of this issue of WRE was written several weeks ago, we believe it remains deeply relevant to those principles that brought the businesses we write about the success they have earned, and will bring them greater opportunities tomorrow. On the subject of creating value, we reported on Te Crosby Group acquiring three unique businesses in the lifting and rigging market over the last year or so. In our Leadoff Feature, we are very grateful to share a discussion we enjoyed with Robert Desel, CEO of Te Crosby Group. He outlined the opportunities these acquisitions present for customers, distributors and employees – and speaks very passionately about the company’s emphasis on transparency as a key safety factor. Tat means knowing exactly who made any particular item, and where they sourced the steel used to make it. In our Cover Feature, we visit Modulift’s state-of-the-art new facility in which they’ve been operating since mid-2019. Te company has been delivering large custom-engineered solutions like the one detailed on the cover of this issue for many years. In addition to stretching production and storage space, the new plant and office is intended to further the company’s leadership in these custom-engineered heavy lift projects for which they have seen growing demand.
