Celebrate Mother’s Milk this May
When you’ve just had a baby, adjusting to this whole new life can be hard, especially when you constantly question if you’re doing things ‘right’. But whatever parent you choose to be, don’t be a lonely one.
This May, the Medela Big Breastfeeding Café returns for a fifth year with a day dedicated to bringing thousands of parents together to celebrate all things breastfeeding. Making ‘mum friends’ and socialising with other parents who have babies or toddlers the same age as yours is a like a cosy cup of reassurance that those sleepless nights do get easier, it’s normal to need a break, and that you’re doing
the best job for your children. That’s why Medela, one of the world’s leading breastfeeding companies, is encouraging parents to host their own breastfeeding café on Wednesday 6th May to empower and inspire other parents, share their parenting and breastfeeding experiences – and challenges – and offer support where necessary. Anyone can sign up to take part, whether you’re a parent, café owner, or parent and baby club host. You could host your breastfeeding café at home, at your local village hall or a nearby coffee shop.
Whether you invite three mums
or ten mums, it doesn’t matter – it’s all about having a cuppa and a chinwag.
Every host who signs up will be sent a kit of essentials including tea, biscuits, bunting, posters and invites – hopefully you manage to drink your tea while it’s still hot, but we’re not miracle workers.
Last year, 150 cafes and
businesses took part plus 70 parents who organised their own at home, and for the fifth year Medela are hoping for even more people to get involved.
