Enterprising Women get ready for awards
After receiving our highest number of applications for the Enterprising Women Awards, finalists have now been announced and the countdown to the awards ceremony is on. Congratulations to those shortlisted. This year’s gala dinner is taking
place on Friday 6 March and is set to be another fantastic evening to celebrate the high calibre of female talent across the East Midlands. With a variety of accolades up for grabs, female professionals from a range of backgrounds and expertise have the opportunity to be crowned an Enterprising Women winner. We are also delighted to have Emma Jesson back this year to host the evening.
‘This year’s record- breaking applications have resulted in incredibly talented finalists’
The Enterprising Women
Awards have continued to grow year on year, and we are thrilled to welcome attendees to what is set to be another dazzling celebration. This year’s record-breaking applications have resulted in incredibly talented finalists - it’s an event not to be missed. While we wait for the gala
dinner, the next Enterprising Women Business Lunch is on 26 February, where Jean will lead the focus on menopause in the workplace. Join us in a comfortable environment, bring your colleagues, or your employer, to openly discuss experiences and help us start the conversation about menopause in the workplace.
Best wishes, Jean and Eileen Co-chairs of Enterprising Women

Last chance to book for Love Business Expo 2020
The organisers of Love Business, the East Midlands’ largest annual B2B expo, are urging Chamber members to book their free delegate place today to ensure they don’t miss out on what’s set to be the biggest and best event yet. Taking place on Tuesday 27 February at Holywell
Park Conference Centre, Loughborough, Love Business 2020 is set to attract hundreds of exhibitors, thousands of delegates and dozens of high-profile partner organisations. The Chamber is again delighted to be supporting the
event and exhibiting on the day. Other local organisations lending their support include the Institute of Directors, the Federation of Small Businesses, Mocha Communicates, Accent Commercial Resources, Workplace Diversity Solutions, DPI, NatWest, RapidCash, KuKu Connect and Inchcape Lexus.
‘Love Business has built a reputation as the region’s biggest B2B expo and a must-attend event’
The agenda for the day is being finalised, but visitors
can expect the usual action-packed mix of business success stories, insight from local and national business and political leaders, and advice from industry experts across a wide range of business sectors. Speakers already lined up include North West
Leicestershire MP Andrew Bridgen, Nachural Group founder Ninder Johal, Ioan Reed-Aspley, Head of Communications at East Midlands Airport, and local recruitment sector guru Eileen Richards MBE. There will also be a panel discussion featuring senior business leaders from across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Now in its ninth year, Love Business has built a
reputation as the region’s biggest B2B expo and a must-attend event in the East Midlands business calendar. It has had a positive impact on the economy and the community in the East Midlands, providing a
great platform for local businesses to showcase their products and services, share their good news and make vital new connections. Steve Megson, Managing Director of Quiet Storm Solutions, which founded the event in 2011, said: “Love Business 2020 is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet, with new partners on board, exhibition stands selling out in record time and delegate bookings up by 200%. It’s set to be an action-packed day, so make sure you book your ticket now to ensure you don’t miss out. “Year-on-year, the event has grown in size, delegate
numbers and interest and has become a firm fixture in the annual business calendar in the heart of the Midlands as a real celebration of local business success.” David Pearson, the Chamber’s Director of
Partnerships, added: “We’re delighted to once again be backing Love Business as headline sponsor in 2020, as a clear demonstration of our commitment to enhancing businesses and communities across the East Midlands. “Love Business encapsulates that, connecting
businesses with all the organisations, like the Chamber, which can help SMEs to grow and prosper so they continue to provide jobs and financial security to the wider community.”
