New Year honours for a number of our local stars


A number of individuals associated with the Chamber have been recognised in the New Year Honours list, which was announced recently. The New Year Honours list recognises the achievements of a wide range


of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom who make a positive impact in a variety of different ways. The list demonstrates the breadth of service given by people from all


backgrounds from all across the UK – with many making a significant difference here in the East Midlands. In total, 1,097 people received an award in the New Year Honours 2020,


with 941 candidates selected at BEM, MBE and OBE level, 315 at BEM, 397 at MBE and 229 at OBE level. The Chamber’s congratulations goes out to all individuals across our


region who have been awarded prestigious titles, especially those with connections to both the Chamber and the region’s thriving business community. Those recognised with a connection to the Chamber include:


• Christopher Nieper OBE, Managing Director, David Nieper • Craig Chettle MBE, Chief Executive, Confetti Media Group • Michael Kuldip Johal MBE, Johal Munshi and Co • Teresa Manning MBE, Chief Executive, Clockwise Credit Union • Brian Smith MBE, Managing Director, R.E.A.L.
