064 INTERIORS — KITCHENS & BATHROOMS
2020, Otto Tiles & Design’s Fish Scale Turquoise Ceramic Tiles are perfect for creating an on-trend feature wall.
Splash of colour?
Tired of white handbasins? The London Basin Company’s Georgina basin will make your bathroom stand out from the crowd with its Eastern-inspired pattern. Despite the strong colouring, it works surprisingly well against a range of backdrops, from deep shades to calming pastels, and we love it against Mural Wallpaper’s Ripple shown here [9].
If you do opt for white
bathroom furniture, offset it with a deep colour on the walls. The subtly curvy new Milan collection by Britton, for example, looks fabulous against a rich olive green [6]. As well as being stylish, the Milan pieces are easy to clean, thanks to a special NANO glaze coating that creates a surface six times smoother than standard ceramic. The bathroom should be a
restful haven, so if light and airy relaxes you more than deep, rich colours, go for a light and airy spa feel in yours. If you’re using a pale, neutral colour palette, lift it with darker accent colours, though – the matt black of Crosswater’s Design+ shower door and MPRO shower head and black Svelte towel warmer hit just the right note for this [7].
Heads up!
Looking for the ultimate spa experience without a total refi t? The bathroom hasn’t escaped the digital revolution and Grohe’s Rainshower 310 SmartConnect digital showerhead connects via Bluetooth to a battery-powered, remote control fi tted to the wall of the shower enclosure, allowing each user to easily select the icon that represents the spray pattern that suits their mood – from powerful ActiveRain to the softer droplets of PureRain. Best of all, it can be retro-fi tted to an existing shower thermostat as it doesn’t require any behind-the-wall installation.
