will be checked and replaced when necessary. One of the main features of the MasterJet Pro headbox design is that the bottom lip can be easily exchanged and sent to Voith for in-house refurbishment. The benefit to the customer is said to be two-fold. Voith reckons that downtime of the paper machine is reduced by an estimated 70 per cent compared to the services of competitors because as-new parts are replaced on site. Furthermore, Voith uses inserts made of polyphenylsulfone which compared with other materials has a 50 per cent longer wear life and much higher chemical resistance. Over the years, Voith has
