Benefits of Florida Federation of Fairs Membership

By Associate Director Richard George, CCE

There are many benefits of be-

ing a member of the Florida Fed- eration of Fairs. One of my favorite benefits is our an- nual convention and trade show held in May. The event has many workshops and round tables with an immense amount of knowledge to be gained, it is not only educational it also brings camaraderie amongst our fairs and associates.

There are so many great social gatherings throughout

the year. During the Florida State Fair N.I.C.A hold its annual business expo and food show, which all are welcome to attend. We also hold our clay shootout. All I can say about that is “fun, fun, fun.”

It is an honor and a privilege to be part of this great organization. Come join us in December for the I.A.F.E convention in San Antonio, Texas.

Thank you, Richard George CCE

Faircracker FALL 2019

In Memory by

David Mussel- man

This year I had to unfortunately leave the con-

vention on Saturday morning and miss the final day of trade show and the evening banquet. This was the first time in many years I missed that special event. But it was necessary because one of my dearest and most loyal friends lost his life just 8 days prior and his funeral was that day.

Marco Peters was always a joy to be around. He

was one of the most personable and innovative tal- ents I have ever met. He and his brother Philip cre- ated the Live Shark Encounter and later the most sought- after attraction playing on grounds in fairs, festivals and theme parks. Saying Marco will be missed is like saying the sky is blue on a Florida afternoon. He will be missed by literally thou- sands. Recently I had the honor of spending some time with his brother Philip, who is also one of my dearest friends and business associate for the last 30 plus years. These brothers have changed my life and made me better.

May 10, 2019 at the age of 57; he was born September 9, 1961 in Amsterdam Holland. Animals were his life, Entertainment was his

passion, Friendship his strength, Family his roots. Marco lost the power for the stage of life, and dropped the final curtain.

He is survived by loving mother Gisela Stratmann, siblings Philip Peters, Cesare Peters and

Sherida Peters. He is preceded in death by his father Hans Peters. An incredible man who did incredible things and will be forever in our hearts.
