Page 44 Summer and fall seasons are the time of year that many of our Zone 2 Fairs take
place. Unfortunately, some of our Fairs have had weather challenges this year but, on the brighter side, many had great Fairs with nice weather and increased attendance.
I was fortunate to be able to visit one of our major Zone 2 Fairs, the Maryland State
Fair, in August. What a great time I had! The crowds were large and it was evident the Fair visitors were having a wonderful day at the Fair. Andy Cashman and his team were gracious hosts as were the folks from Deggeller Attractions.
As we approach the end of the year, our Fairs will be concluding and our learning ses-
sions will begin. I hope you have made your arrangements to attend the 2019 IAFE an- nual convention in San Antonio December 1-4. Registration is open and the hotels are ready to be booked. Don’t miss out on the biggest networking and educational event of the year for fairs and expositions. We all need to expand our knowledge so we can be a Champion of Change for our communities and our industry. See you in San Antonio!
