Faircracker FALL 2019

The Collier Fair is winding down from scaring the community at the 10th Annual Haunted ‘GROSS’ House. All proceeds from this event go into our Mak- ing Life “FAIR” Fund to

benefit those in need in our community, fair family, friends and those we may hear about. We have also been able to provide scholar- ships for different organizations through this fund.

Many of you re- member Cheryl Gross a longtime board member, em- ployee, livestock parent and volun- teer at the Collier Fair who put in nu- merous hours of hard work and lots of dedication to our fair. She was one of a kind! Cheryl passed away in 2012 from Melanoma and the fair has continued to run the Haunted ‘GROSS’ House in her memory.

This year we hosted 13 rooms of scary, creepy, bloody, gory, ghoulish fun! The house is run off of more than 30 people putting in numerous volunteer hours to make it all hap- pen. Our maintenance team did most of the ground work and even had rooms for them- selves. Our board members took on rooms with their family members and friends. It is truly a great display of support for an even greater cause. We also offered a hayride for the younger crowd. Which, we find, had a lot of us older folks enjoying the ride around the grounds, bringing back those childhood memories. Beware though, some of our board members drive the tractors to pull the trailers!
