Dartmouth Food Festival - 2019 Rotary Young Chef Competition 2019

Dartmouth Rotary Club and Dartmouth Academy

There is a great opportunity for students from Dartmouth Academy, on their GCSE course for Food Technology, to enter a National Competition. Rotary International run an annual competition of four rounds and Dartmouth Rotary Club organise the local heat to coincide with our wonderful Dartmouth Food Festival in October.

The students get shortlisted and then allocated to top chefs from different restaurants and hotels around town for mentoring. The task is to create a nutritious, attractive two course meal on a tight budget and prepare it in two hours. Their meals complete with menu cards, are then

set before a panel of judges made up of chefs and local dignitaries.

The winner and runner up from our heat will then go forward to the District round and from there a chance to get to the prestigious national final.

So why not come along to support these talented and ambitious young chefs on what could be the start of a brilliant career?

Thursday October 17th: 5.00-6.00pm: Demonstration Kitchen, Royal Avenue Gardens : Judging and presentation of awards.
