Our wine seminars and tastings at Browns Hotel have again been co-ordinated by drinks writer and expert Susy Atkins and this year the programme is designed to stir up some lively discussion and debate!

MODERN ITALY One of the South-West’s foremost wine experts and writers, Stephen Barrett, joins us to reveal some of his favourite Italian stars. A lively tasting with a few cheese and charcuterie nibbles. £14.50
HOW TO TASTE WINE LIKE A PRO Wonder what to look for when you taste wine and how to describe it? Festival favourites The Guardian’s wine writer Fiona Beckett and Master of Wine Liam Steevenson share the tricks of their trade. The pair, co-hosts of popular podcast Batonnage, will take you through some of their favourite wines while helping you hone your wine tasting skills. £16.50
CHILL OUT WITH COOL CLIMATE WINES Explore the world of wine from cooler climes with local expert, educator and sommelier Rebecca Mitchell who will present a selection of delightfully refreshing wines from both northern and southern hemispheres. With light canapes £14.50
BEER AND FOOD MATCHING: THE GUILDHALL, VICTORIA RD Join the Royal Castle Hotel on a culinary tour of South Devon, where they have prepared a selection of tasting plates each served with a thoughtfully selected, locally brewed beer to compliment or contrast the dish. Tickets £26.50

NEW ZEALAND vs FRANCE We’re delighted to welcome The Times’ wine critic Will Lyons back to the Festival, this year pitting diverse classic French wines against similar styles from New Zealand, a country Will has recently visited. Canapes to match. £16.50
ROUND THE WORLD IN 60 MINUTES The South West Wine School invites you to an extended tasting of varied wines from different parts of the winemaking globe. Meet some of the wine experts at this year’s Festival who will be taking part, each showing off a table of vinous gems. £14.50
FABULOUS FIZZ Get your Saturday evening off to a sparkling start with the Sunday Telegraph wine columnist Susy Atkins who will be popping open five fine fizzes, both local stars and internationally made. With cold nibbles. £14.50
SALCOMBE GIN IN THE ANGEL TENT, NEXT TO DARTMOUTH VISITOR CENTRE Join us for gin tasting. Throughout the session you can be informed and entertained by Salcombe Gin, who are not only supplying their delicious spirit for the event but will also be talking you through the intricacies of gin production, and bringing along their mixologist to talk to you through the making of different cocktails to sample.
