FAMILY
Does your family need a helping hand?
Admitting it’s time for an extra bit of support is often one of the hardest decisions to make in later life. But finding the right carer to provide a helping hand can make a huge difference to family life.
Local home care provider Visiting Angels has been successful in delivering care of a brilliant standard to families in South Yorkshire since it was launched in 2017 by local businessman, Dan Archer.
Along with recruiting the very best carers, Visiting Angels has a different approach to the way a client’s carer is chosen, with each client and their family involved in the simple three-step process to put everyone at ease.
At the first no obligation meeting, Dan and his team take the time to understand your needs and wants from homecare. They also want to

Crucially the final step is where you are introduced to the caregiving team for you to ‘choose your caregiver’.
“I feel it is important that, as you are inviting someone into your home, you choose the Angel that visits you, not us. Being involved in picking the right carer for their individual needs and wants also helps those people and their families who may be a little unsure or nervous about care,” Dan says. centric approach compared to other carer providers, Visiting Angels believe that putting carers at the heart of the business ethos will help them provide a better service to clients. “Too often carers are not treated fairly and their loyalty is not earned or rewarded. We focus on finding the very best caregivers and then encouraging them to stay by paying up to £11.50 an hour and rewarding them for their loyalty. Our staff turnover is a quarter of the average care provider and this gives our clients and their families the peace of mind that the same carer will come
each day that they are needed,” Dan says.
Speaking about the care that his wife received, Peter says: “Lyndsey is just great, my wife lights up when she sees her each morning. The difference between Visiting Angels and our previous care provider couldn’t be greater.” Feedback like this was one of the reasons that Visiting Angels was recognised in the Great British Care Awards in 2018 as one of the top employers in the north of England and has been rated as good with the Care Quality Commission.
