HEALTH & BEAUTY A total transformation

We may be in the midst of the season of change but there is no transformation as spectacular as that of Hellaby Hall’s dedicated health club and spa facilities.

Following extensive investment from the hotel’s owners, major renovations have been underway at Bodyscene and Fretwell Health and Beauty as they progress through their on-going quest to revamp the leisure site.

A major part of the owners’ plan was to create an all-new health and beauty area with its own private entrance to allow guests to relish in the calming spa experience away from the up-beat tempo of the gym.

Having previously had a modest, humble home in an upstairs area of the gym, Fretwell Health and Beauty now stands proudly at the front of the health club in a former gym area which has been totally overhauled to create a modern, tranquil retreat with a serene ambience.

The welcoming, soothing space is an oasis of calm from the moment you step through the door

influenced by the pure beauty of nature. Along with a whole new look, the Fretwell also boasts a new treatment menu using the luxurious product range by ELEMIS. There are now many supercharged specialist facials to choose from to energise skin using the power of science and nature. One major new investment to the spa has been the BIOTEC machine which can resurface skin, control blemishes, firm and lift and even erase fine lines and wrinkles using its multi-modality wands.

The trained therapists also offer ELEMIS’ range of body treatments such as the invigorating lime and ginger salt scrub to cleanse skin and encourage rejuvenation, or a deep tissue massage using aromatic oils to help ease muscle pain, relieve stress or balance emotions. Once you’ve enjoyed a treatment in one of the four new rooms, don’t rush home; enjoy the peace and quiet in one of the two relaxation rooms designed to help you unwind in comfortable surroundings.

Now that the spa has moved, its previous space has been utilised as an extra fitness studio specifically for holistic classes like yoga and tai chi. The new Mind and Body area can also be used

by members looking for a quiet space to do an ab workout or cool down session. Development is also underway in the main gym area with the arrival of 20 new cardio machines including treadmills, cross trainers, upright and recumbent bikes. This investment is just the first phase of the ongoing works with the plan to create a flexible, more accessible gym environment and give members the best possible experience.

After a visit to the spa or gym, why not enjoy a panini or slice of cake on the new courtyard area leading out from the coffee bar – yet another part of the recent renovations.
