A-level Success At Poole Grammar
Our A level results were again very strong, with 72.34% of grades at A*/A/B, with a pass rate of 99.79%.
This represents an increase in both the pass rate and in the proportion achieving higher grades than in 2018, and the proportion achieving A*/A/B is the highest
the school has achieved for many years. The proportion getting into their fi rst or second choice University offer remains at the high level of recent years.
A number of subjects achieved 100% at A*/A/B – Art, Drama/Theatre Arts, Electronics and English Literature. Other subjects saw a particularly strong performance, with more than 80% A*/A/B grades – Business 87.5%, Computing 94.12%, German 80%, Maths 80% and Media Studies 83.33%. Many other subjects performed very well, given
the starting points of their particular group of students.
Top performers at A level include Lawrence Alford (2A* 2A), James Bennion- Pedley (5A*), Miles Courtie (4A*), Chris Forde (3A*), Joseph Garrett (2A* 2A), Matthew Gray (2A* 1A), Frank Herrington (2A* 1A, A* in EPQ), Tom Lemans
(3A* 1A), Menan Loganathan (3A*), Daniel Miller (2A*, 1A, A* in EPQ), Dan Noble (3A* 1A), Eryk Skalinski (2A* 1A), James Skinner (4A*) and Timur Sypchenko (4A* 1A, B in EPQ).
Head Teacher Andy Baker said, “Congratulations to all students for their achievements, and to their teachers and parents for the support and challenge they provided them with during their time at Poole Grammar. We are delighted that their hard work and determination has been rewarded with such excellent results.”
