TRUST Reassurance that
Douch Family Funeral Directors wants to send a huge thank you to all of its volunteer knitters who have produced tens of thousands of items for charities and good causes.
The ‘knit and natter’ sessions have been taking place over the last fi ve years at various locations and have proved a massive hit.
Hundreds of knitters have made items for Preemies UK, YMCA, Poppy Appeal, Dementia Friends and Knit for Peace. And they have even been featured in Let’s Knit magazine!
The sessions take place in Wimborne, Parkstone, Corfe Mullen, Broadstone, Colehill, West Moors and Ferndown.
Emma Regan from Douch Family Funeral Directors, that has eight branches in east Dorset, said:
“We launched our fi rst ‘knit and natter’ session without knowing what to expect. But it proved so popular we expanded the groups and now they meet at seven locations. Our knitters love nattering as much as they love knitting and more volunteers are always welcome.
Another project the volunteers are working on is knitting elephants for Mosaic, the child bereavement charity. We have the patterns available and if people can’t make the knit and natter sessions they can always knit at home.”
Details of the sessions can be found on the Douch Family Funeral Directors Facebook page and website:
