New Players Wanted

Corfe Mullen Youth Club

As we start another term, September brings a new group of Year 7s to the club and enrolment forms are available either by email or at the Parish Council Offi ces.

A copy of the new term’s programme and rules will be available on the Parish Council website www. corfemullen-pc.gov.uk, where there is a link to the Community Youth Club pages. We also publish monthly updates on the Corfe Mullen Community Facebook page.

Calling All Badminton Players!

Have you played badminton before? Enjoy playing but looking for something more friendly and social than just an open session at a sports centre? If so, Corfe Mullen Badminton Club is looking for experienced players of intermediate standard (ideally used to playing with feather shuttles) to join our friendly badminton club when our season starts in September. We play at Poole Grammar School on Thursday evenings from 7.30-9.30pm during the winter months and with two courts you’ll get plenty of games!

Corfe Mullen is a long-established badminton club. We have been in existence for over 50 years, starting life as St Hubert’s Badminton Club and playing at the old church hall before the development of St Nicholas. Over the years we have played at several venues in the area before settling at the Grammar School a few years ago.

With the advent of open sessions at sports centres, smaller badminton clubs have struggled to survive over the last few years and many have gone under. In an effort to keep going and attract some new members this year, we are moving away from a set subscription to a fl exible ‘pay as you play’ system. We will be charging just £5 per evening – you can come as little or as often as suits you. Why not come and give us a try?
