(SHOW REPORT) Wheatley Horse Show

at Thame Showground, Sunday 30th June Report by Emma Richardson-Steele

The 29th Wheatley Horse Show went ahead on Sunday 30th June on the beautiful Thame showground. A new website for this year, championships for both morning and afternoon classes and one of the few local shows in the area still running working hunter classes, the show attracted unprecedented entries. The show is gaining a reputation for it's exquisite rosettes and sashes and the organisers received excellent feedback from competitors. Over 200 horses and riders competed in the show at Thame Showground. The show was organised by Emma Richardson-Steele & Emma Bradley, with profits from the show this year being raised for Alec's Angels, Peer Talk and the Air Ambulance. Emma Richardson-Steele is the President of the Concours d'Elegance Society of GB and the schedule included 8 concours d'Elegance classes which were all very well attended and were qualifiers for the Concours d'Elegance Championship on Sunday 8th September at Murcott, Oxfordshire.

Central Horse News kindly sponsored the in hand arena; 5 classes in the morning judged by Ms Mellissa Startin and 4 classes in the afternoon judged by Miss Peyton Sims with championships both morning and afternoon the classes were all well supported. Winner of the CHN Most Stylish Rider was Penelope Harper riding Bunbury Best Ma. Penny also won the Beginners Working Hunter class, Junior Concours d'Elegance riding him side saddle and then took the Reserve Championship in the Hunter Ring.
