(SHOW REPORT)

Whitfield Charity Horse Show at Manor Farm, Whitfield, Northamptonshire on Sunday June 9th

Report by Maxine Ivers Photos by Paul Buddin

After a really terrible week with rain and high winds it was with great relief on getting up on Sunday morning to sunshine, this boded well for a good day and it turned out to be just that. With over 150 entries equal to 2018 most of the classes were well supported. The champions were a really nice set of horse and rider, with the judges saying what a good number of good quality horses and ponies in front of them. The In hand Champion- ship went to Ellie Shaw with Martin Clarkes lovely 4-year-old coloured Craigol Oh Lady Lily having won the youngster class, Reserve was Meg Thomson with Rignell Dalwhinnie winning both M & M Classes. The Ridden champion was Rachel Stocks on Sebastian, winner of the Coloured Ridden with Violet Coales on Chalverston Paparazzi, having won the Lead Rein class, taking the Reserve in a highly contested Championship of 17 coming forward for the judges. The Working Hunter Championship was won by Thomas Harper on Bunbary Best Man with Sarah Lee taking Reserve on Limerick Choice. Thomas Harper had a great day on his veteran pony winning the ridden veteran and 65cms Workers and 3rd in the Hunter Pony class. Sadly the Ridden Champion and Reserve didn't stay for the Show Championship which left the way open for the workers to take the Championship.

It was a lovely day despite the Caterer not turning up, I raised a good amount of money for the Charities supported this year, Dogs For Good and Pablos Horse Sanctuary with a special donation going to the Air Ambulance. With the Show behind me I can concentrate on the last of the Dressage evenings through to September. I am so grateful to our sponsors without whom we wouldn't run.
