Baxendale will kick off an exciting series of events at Hotel du Vin in Birmingham on 3 September. The former boss of Southampton City Council
has a strong track record in local government and has also held roles working with the European Commission in Brussels and the World Bank in Romania. She will be giving an update on the goings on
at the city council, as well as outlining its future plans.
Amazon UK’s community relations manager
Neil Williams is the guest speaker at the Roman Way Hotel in Cannock Chase on 9 October. He will be discussing operations at Amazon’s fulfilment centre in nearby Rugeley, which is the size of 10 football pitches, employs in the region of 1,000 people and handles millions of products for customers. On 23 October, West Midlands mayor Andy
Street will address an audience at Aston Wood Golf Club near Sutton Coldfield. The former boss of retailer John Lewis is set
to discuss developments across the region, as well as the challenges that lie ahead. We’re counting down to the 2020 US
elections on 7 November with a panel of transatlantic business experts. The panel will discuss Donald Trump’s
presidency and what we can expect in the months leading up to the elections. The venue for this event is to be confirmed. The Speaker Breakfast events are free to
attend for Chamber members and £15 for non- members.
