New director at hospice
The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice in Stoke has appointed Nathan Walton as its new director of income generation and marketing. Mr Walton was previously a trustee at the
hospice, and has taken part in a number of fundraising events and challenges over the years, raising more than £110,000. Last year he was one of a team of 12 who took
part in the gruelling Tower to Tower challenge, a four-day cycling, rowing and walking event from Paris to London without sleep. He said: “As a long-time supporter of The
Donna Louise, I’ve seen first-hand the wonderful and invaluable support that the hospice offers to so many local families, and have been fortunate enough to get to know many of them, and the wonderful team who care for them, over the years.” Mr Walton was previously managing director of JSW Insurance Services, a company which he co-founded and fronted for 14 years.
MP welcomes road
improvements cash Cannock MP Amanda Milling has welcomed new government funding to improve roads across Cannock Chase. Staffordshire County Council will be given
£1,123,967 to tackle potholes and improve the condition of roads in Cannock Chase. This funding is part of a £6.6bn
programme over the six years until 2021 to improve the state of roads across the country. The Cannock MP, who has pursued a
number of campaigns to highlight the problem of potholes in the locality, has welcomed the funding and the extra investment in the roads. She said: “This new funding to tackle potholes and improve the condition of the roads in Cannock Chase is great news. I have long campaigned for extra investment to go into our roads. “If you see any potholes, please make
