NERCHA News June 2019


19 at the Ilderton Fairgrounds and it was great to see both new and familiar faces there. We had a total of 181 entries over a weekend that was full of exciting runs and a lot of fun! Our beginner classes were a hit; the cutting classes were full (including a few first-time short stirrup riders), and the full-slate of NRCHA-sanctioned classes were also run both Saturday and Sunday.


Upcoming Events: June 15th: Beginner Clinic at Misty Meadows (Staffa, ON)


July 13-14: NERCHA and NRCHA-sanctioned show at the REACH Centre (Clinton, ON) *Exciting News: several of our NRCHA classes, as well as our Open ranch riding class will be AQHA co-sanc- tioned thanks to a grant from the Canadian Quarter Horse Association. Our Saturday ranch riding class will also have cattle in the pattern in an attempt to help AQHA ranch riders prepare for the AQHA World Shows. Be sure to keep an eye on our website for more details coming soon!


September 7-8: NERCHA and NRCHA-sanctioned show at the Ilderton Fairgrounds, (Ilderton, ON) *This show will consist of our regular classes as well as a futurity, derby, bridle spectacular, and new this year, The 4-Event Championship (riders will compete in herd work, reined work, fence work, and steer stopping).

Classes Offered:NRCHA classes judged by NRCHA judges as well as club classes for all, from those wanting to give reined cow horse a try (schooling box and schooling fence) and beginners (beginner 1 and beginner 2), to non-pros and open riders wanting to compete in ranch cutting, open ranch pleas- ure, and open ranch riding. We hope to see you out this show season!
