Why wi-fi outsmarts smart home technology, plus there’s something to suit every type of house buyer at new local developments


new survey of 2,000 adults across Britain has revealed. Online banking was rated third while internet search engines took fourth place. Online shopping sites, such as Amazon, completed the top five.

Overall 48% of those surveyed chose wi-fi as their favourite and most impactful invention, while 41% opted for smartphone technology. A spokesperson for Product Focus, which commissioned the study, said: “The last 25 years has seen an explosion in technical development and creativity which has improved our quality of life. “In the last couple of decades, we have planted

three in five believe a product needs to fill a gap in the market, while another 54% think the invention needs to improve lives in order to go down in history, and a third think the design has to ‘break the mould’ of what has come before.
