How are businesses future-proofing themselves in these changing times?
At the Doncaster Business Insight Breakfast Briefing for Q1 2019, local firms gained an economic snapshot of how the local economy is faring and how they can make themselves more robust and sustainable in these changing economic, political, and environmental times. The results of the latest Doncaster
Business Insight Survey, run by Doncaster Chamber, showed that despite Brexit uncertainty, local firms’ sales, advance orders and employment increased over the past three months. However, investment in plant and machinery, training and the proportion of firms working to full capacity decreased. Keynote speaker, Anna Round from IPPR-

Amazon welcomed 15 SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) students from the Communication Specialist College Doncaster (CSCD) for an industry visit organised by Doncaster Skills Academy to give them a first- hand experience of the various employment opportunities available to them on their doorstep. Adam Asquith, from Amazon, said: “As a tour
lead, working alongside a sign language expert, was a new experience and something I can’t wait
to do again. The group itself was awesome and asked some really good questions; some I had never been asked before. The one thing that I loved about the group is how amazed they were when they saw the size of the building inside and the amazing technology we use.”

business with a DN postcode that completed the Doncaster Business Insight Survey, the Chamber donated £1 to Active Fusion to help children develop a love for being active. The Doncaster Business Insight
programme includes regular surveys, roundtables and breakfast briefings, supported by Doncaster Council and sponsored by ProAktive, to help inform stakeholders and influence policy to provide the right support for businesses and the economy to grow. Take the next Doncaster Business Insight
Survey from 20 May to 10 June 2019. For every survey taken by a Doncaster based business, the Chamber will donate £1 to Mind.
