GROUNDDOG DAY – 26TH MAY 2019


Join us for a great day of celebrating rescue dogs at our Lincoln Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre,


Bere Road, Winterborne Kingston,


Blandford Forum, Dorset DT11 9BP. Entry is free but


donations are welcomed, gates open at 11am.


The day promises something for all the family, not just the four legged members. There will be lots to enjoy including an agility display from Moonlight Agility, have a go agility, distraction alley, hot food and refreshments, as well as local traders coming along with lots of delights on offer. This is all in addition to the Fun Dog Show, which starts at noon; classes are just £2 to enter or £10 for six classes. Fun Dog Show classes will include, Best Trick, Best Child Handler, Best Rescue, Fastest Tail Wagger, Most Appealing Eyes to name just a few. So, come along and join in a fantastic day!


GroundDog Day rounds off Margaret Green Week, which takes place every year and incorporates the date that was Margaret’s Birthday, 20th May. Also taking place from 19th-26th May is the Big Green Dog Walk. Lytchett & Upton Beacon Community Association: At last we are registered with the Charity Commission and have a new charity number, so we can now work together with the Carnival, Art and Venison Festival teams to make a stronger panel of volunteers with full charitable applications.


The very successful Barn Dance on 16th March, saw a profi t of £894.42 to be split between the Carnival funds and funds needed to replace the dividing door in the community centre.


Our other fundraising events are: 11th May a car boot/table top sale in the St Dunston’s car park (see pg30); 18th May a family show (see pg30); 20th December an adults-only Christmas Quiz. More info to follow, but please watch out for the posters and Carnival Facebook page.
