Lytchett Minster School
We are delighted to see some of our students getting involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) events competing successfully with their peers from other local schools.
Special congratulations go to three teams of highly motivated, intelligent Year 9 students who competed in the fi nals of a STEM challenge at Bournemouth University. Others have attended an event run by Atlas Elektronik in Winfrith, a Rotary Engineering Challenge event at Parkstone Grammar School, and our Year 9 ambassadors inspired Bere Regis pupils in a science workshop. Well done also to our team of Year 7 and 8 boys, who reached the fi nals of a Robotics Challenge event in Birmingham.
In the creative subjects, the extra-curricular life of the school has also been very busy. A Level Art students have been exhibiting their work at the Poole Lighthouse in an exhibition entitled ‘Close to the Body’. The Drama department recently hosted the award-winning devising company, The Paper Birds. Students took part in a workshop during the day and enjoyed an evening performance of the new show ‘Thirsty’, a story about Britain’s
relationship with alcohol.
We are rightly very proud of the amazing vibrancy of our school, with its very diverse range of extra- curricular activities. If you have any enquiries regarding admissions to Lytchett and would like to visit either the main school, or the Sixth Form, please do not hesitate to contact the school offi ce on 01202 622413.
