The Digital Growth Programme’s fully-funded workshops have benefited thousands of SMEs across the region
Digital Growth Programme reaches major landmark
More than 1,000 Leicestershire businesses have signed up to an expert-led programme that helps businesses get ahead in the digital world – and now more SMEs across the whole of the East Midlands region are being urged to take advantage of the project. The Digital Growth Programme – managed by the Chamber – has just hit the figure, marking a milestone for the initiative for its delivery in Leicester and Leicestershire. Nick Rushton, Leader of Leicestershire County
Council, said: “This significant milestone demonstrates the demand for business growth in Leicestershire and highlights how eager our local businesses are to be fit for the future. “It is great for the council’s team to be part of such a
successful programme and I’d encourage any budding business leader to come along to the programme’s conference in April and learn from some of the best in the industry.” Part-funded by the European Regional Development
Fund, the project also runs across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire – with almost 1,700 SMEs signed up for support in these two counties. Diane Beresford, Deputy Chief Executive of the Chamber, added: “We’re delighted to see the success of the programme in Leicester and Leicestershire, helping businesses to make their mark in the digital world and ultimately contribute to the growth of the local economy. “Equally, we’re also working with a significant
number of businesses across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and they are too thriving thanks to support from the programme.” The project delivers fully-funded expert advice to businesses, helping them keep ahead of the latest
digital trends – from social media and virtual reality to cyber security and selling online. In addition, two full-day digital conferences are being
held in April and May – specifically designed to help local small and medium-sized enterprises.
