Royal Army Medical Corps Volunteers Officer’s Victorian Period Blue Cloth Helmet, a good quality example, the blue cloth body complete with all silver plated fittings, the frontal plate of Royal Arms pattern with tri-part scroll ‘Royal Army Medical Corps’, buff leather sweat band with pink silk lining, together with its japanned metal carrying tin this with brass plaque ‘Lieut. B. Riddell, V.R.A.M.C’, the helmet tin contains a knapped flint for use on flintlock weapons, the chin chain would appear to be that from an 1869 pattern shako and has one link distorted otherwise very good overall condition

Army Veterinary Corps Officer’s Blue Cloth Helmet c. 1902-14, the skull complete with all gilt metal fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel and Garter overlays, in the centre on a ground of green vitreous enamel a silver monogram ‘AVC’, the plate is not original to the helmet, buff leather sweatband, the plate with much original gilt the other fittings devoid of gilt, otherwise good overall condition
